Digital Paintings

Here is another installment of paintings I've done in the past few weeks. There is another one that I did of a landscape, but due to an error on my part (didn't back it up), I lost most of the work, I'll go back and rework it from where my last save point is. Until then...
Enjoy these.

WIP (work in progress)

Well folks... seems the Ol saying: Time fly's by when your having fun. Is sooo true. I have not been updating this blog as often as I would like. But I have been having fun doing various other things since my last post. Some related to art and animation and some not. The art related stuff is still underway, I will be posting some stuff in the next couple of days. I am going to really work hard to update this blog more often with new stuff. I'm going to keep pressing forward to stay on course.

Cya soon with updates.

Jump Kick

Here is a little something I've been working on recently. Just about finished with this part, I still need to touch up the end of the clip with the smoothing into the final pose, and I am going to have another character receiving the blow from the kick. The beginning pose is the default pose the character is in when you download it, so I thought I'd play off that with the kick and return back to that pose. ( transforms can be zeroed out to get the T pose )

So far its been a nice rig to work with, it feels like the rig was built for action work.
I'll post more when I get some work done on the other character.

Camping Gallery

click the thumbnail to go to the gallery

Well folks, here are the pics from my camping adventure a couple weeks ago. Basically its chronological order. It started off at the state park "Roper Lake" at the base of Mt. Graham Thurs. night, and then up the mountain to "Riggs Lake" Fri. then back down to "Roper Lake" Sat, due to the intense lightning going on that night on the mountain.
I still had a great time up there. The rest of the weekend was great as well. Good time visiting my brother and sisters. The photos at the end of the Show of the Jeep is my new ride. My brother, who now works in Flagstaff selling cars ran my info and hooked me up... For which I am very thankful... The explorer was on its way out, and I have been wanting to get a Jeep for a very long time. "WhooHOoo!!!"
I have started the semester teaching two 3D classes, which is great, I'll post more on that another time. All of this is going on was taking up alot of time, hence the delay in posting. :D

Well, more later... enjoy.

Something from the sketch book

Here I go, got a new sketch book and am going to work on doing some pencil/paper drawing, it has been to long and I miss the feel of it. It may look like crap now, but like I said... its been a while. Anyway, I'm going camping in two weeks for 4 days, and only taking the sketch book... Unplugged... haha... I'm really looking forward to it.

More to come. Take care.

It's been a while.

Well everyone, I didn't realize how long it has been since I posted last. To my surprise when I stumbled by my own blog, the date for the last post was way back in May. Well, I am not going to make any excuses... I have been working doing the teaching and when I have a free moment, I indulge in a good video game. I have been scratching away only a bit at the sketch book or modeling some 3D objects. And when I tell myself I need to get out the sketch book or open up a 3D file to finish, I instead without thinking, find myself clicking on that game icon to further my progress onto the next level. Gaming is my weakness, I admit it. Sure some may say just uninstall it so the temptation is not there, but I just can't do it. I need to learn that if I am going to spend 3 hours on a game then I need to spend 6 on some art work.

Any suggestions are welcome, excluding uninstall. :P

I would like to find the happy medium. I do have some art work that I will post this weekend, I have not been a complete slacker. :D

Teaching

I am teaching classes now for the summer term, I am teaching a 2D class that is a part two, where I am teaching the ink and paint software. The other class is a 3D class that is called Props, Sets, and Environments. Should be Lots-O-Fun.

Speed Painting Session 5

Well, its been a while since I posted, and its been a couple weeks since I did these paintings with Chatree. Other things have been going on in the background to make the time available for such things as these painting sessions hard to come by. But I plan on keeping it up as much as possible, as well as other projects going on.

Mermaid Finished (really this time)

Ok, This is really the final. I'm glad that I went back and changed it up a bit. I made the lights go the opposite direction as to not shadow the most of the features with the lighting going the other way. And fixed the shadows as well as thinned out the water fx. to have a bit more contrast.
And yes, Chatree... I fixed her boooobie (this time).

I'll be working on next is going to be a logo for this said friends boyfriends painting company, plus a few more misc paintings as well as finishing up some of the ones I started in previous posts, I also want to get started on the storyboards for a new animation that I want to get going on. We'll see how it goes.

Spent a Week Away

Well, it started Friday and ended today. I went to visit my sisters in Safford Arizona and had the chance to visit with a great friend that I had not seen in years, who was visiting from Texas. I managed to break away for a few hours and take some pictures of Roper Lake State Park that is in the neighborhood. It is a special place for me because my Dad used to work at the park as a volunteer. I miss the days. Here is a couple photos I took. I got trigger happy with the digital camera and took like 263 photos... I'll post new ones up once in a while. I had a great time.
